The World Championship Outhouse Race, is a competition in which Virginia City Natives race their mobile outhouses that are powered by bicycles and peddled into first place. This tradition originates back to Virginia City’s history of when their outdoor plumbing was outlawed and residents rebelled with their outhouses in protest.
